The inspections of pre-shipment are very important in international agreements.

In international trade the inspections pre-shipment – carried out by a reliable second or third part - are the right choice to of ensure the shipment goods that comply the buyer’s expectations. This pre-shipments inspections (called FRI- final random inspection) are executed when the products are 100 per cent completed and 80 per cent packaged. Products are picked out and identified by SQM inspector in order to include, if possible, the whole production phases to subject them to the control according to AQL standards.

During the inspection SQM inspectors verify the selected products and make sure that fundamental detailed lists, colors, size, aspect, shipment quantities, pack of sale and package are in compliance with customer requests and relative Standards.

Other types of inspection that SQM carries out INITIAL PRODUCTION CHECKS (IPC)
SQM inspectors perform visual inspection of raw materials and accessories that have undergone the first stages of processing with the aid of data sheets and test reports. The IPC allows timely intervention of any non-compliance in order not to compromise the entire production.

DURING PRODUCTION CHECKS (DUPRO)
SQM inspectors perform visual inspection of first pieces assembled, accessories and final product using technical specification and test reports. The presence of chemical dangerous substances, if products are sent to EU market, is an important matter in order to check the conformity, if it is necessary, the inspector could make chemical analysis on the sample.
