The WEEE Treatment Info service is mandatory for all actors in the supply chain who generate or manage WEEE: producers and importers of EEE, treatment and collection centers, consortia/collective systems, distributors, and retailers. How Does the WEEE Treatment Info Service Work?

The WEEE Treatment Info service centralizes data collection and monitoring within a dedicated portal: operators enter WEEE-related information, the system tracks waste flows throughout the supply chain, and generates reports useful for both compliance and regulatory audits.

1. Registration

Obligated parties register on the portal, indicating their role and identification data to operate in a traceable and compliant manner.

2. Data Entry
Standardized data on collected and treated WEEE (quantities, categories, facilities, outcomes) are uploaded with consistency checks.
3. Monitoring and Traceability
The system tracks flows along the entire chain (collection → transport → treatment/recovery), creating a verifiable history for audits and inspections.
4. Verification and Reporting

Periodic compliance checks and product reports (operational and for authorities) are carried out to meet obligations and prevent penalties.

Obligations for Producers and WEEE Managers

Producers and WEEE managers must submit the annual declaration on waste treatment, recovery, and recycling in accordance with Legislative Decree 49/2014.
They must ensure accurate data transmission on the lifecycle of EEE and coordinate with all collection and treatment facilities across the chain. Proper recordkeeping ensures traceability and helps avoid penalties.
