SQM carries out the production control activities at the factory for the CE marking and the quality of products to the manufacturer commissioned an outside contractor.

The manufacturing process is the weak link in ensuring product conformity presumption that, although it duly verified and found to comply in the sampling phase, could present important non-conformity causes of non-quantifiable problems in terms of responsibility, corporate image and cost pecuniary.

A very high percentage of the products in the market come from China and if they are not in compliance the main reasons are caused by:

• hand made production
• turnover of workers
• problems of supply
• low quality standard during production

Each of these causes is sufficient to compromise the production making the product not in compliance with standards. They increase the risks to put into the market non- conforming products. In this case it is necessary to check all raw materials,make some checks during the production and when production is finished.
